WooHoo! NZ Tax Refunds founder to share story at Best Boss Awards

CHRISTCHURCH, 14 October 2013 – Award winning serial entrepreneur Cilla Hegarty will share her story at the inaugural Best Boss Awards in Wellington this Wednesday. Mrs. Hegarty, the founder and chief executive of Christchurch-based WooHoo! NZ Tax Refunds, New Zealand’s leading online tax refund company, is the guest speaker at the awards ceremony designed to acknowledge inspiring managers and bosses.

Event creator Otila Osborne, Director of recruitment company Success Executives International says, “We wanted to find the unsung heroes in business and uncover some really inspirational stories. We’ve been delighted with the number of nominations we’ve had from people wanting to highlight their boss. We have some great stories to share. ”

Ms. Osborne believes a business is as successful as the staff you hire and manage. “We’re really thrilled to have Cilla Hegarty as our guest speaker at the awards. Cilla has built a very successful business through her inspirational leadership and really embodies what we’re celebrating with the Best Boss Awards.”

Mrs. Hegarty founded WooHoo! NZ Tax Refunds (www.woohoo.co.nz) in 2008 to help get paying clients their share of the $700 million in overpaid taxes held by the IRD. Over the past five years the company has picked up a number of business, technology and marketing awards. Mrs. Hegarty has also been honoured with the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2012 service category award and in 2011 she was named the Her Businesswoman of the Year. Just last month Cilla was awarded a Prime Minister’s Business Scholarship to study at the London Business School.
