Snap extends Ultra-Fast Broadband coverage to 90% of NZ
Christchurch, 4 October 2013 – Nearly 70,000 Central North Island homes and businesses can now access Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) services through Snap, one of New Zealand’s fastest growing telecommunications providers.
With the addition of these new regions Snap now offers the most comprehensive UFB coverage plans of all New Zealand providers - reaching over 90 percent of premises that can access UFB. Over a quarter of New Zealand’s Ultra-Fast Broadband home and business users are already Snap UFB customers.
“We’re delighted to be launching Snap services on Ultrafast Fibre’s Central North Island network,” said Snap chief executive Mark Petrie.
“Homes, businesses, and schools in Hamilton, Cambridge, Te Awamutu, Tokoroa, New Plymouth, and Hawera now have an even wider choice of provider to use from today - and we’ll add Tauranga by the end of the month,” Petrie said.
Ultrafast Fibre chief executive Maxine Elliott said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Snap as one of our retail partners. Snap has been successful in other parts of New Zealand, so it’s great to see them launching into six Ultrafast Fibre areas offering competitive ultra-fast broadband packages to our customer base.”
Snap are also extending their Chorus network coverage in the North Island with Palmerston North, Napier, Hastings and Rotorua available now, and Taupo available before the end of the year.
“We’re seeing strong month on month increases with our UFB services nationally. Home users’ demands for speed and data are increasing exponentially and businesses users continue to migrate their business applications to the cloud, driving even higher bandwidth needs,” said Petrie.
“As customer expectations rise because of the faster access speeds, it’s vital they choose a provider that can demonstrate proven UFB performance, through an independent tester such as Truenet,” he adds.
Pricing for a residential UFB service starts at just $75 per month. This includes Wi-Fi router, phone service, and 100GB of data per month. Pricing for small business UFB services start at $129 per month and Snap has an extensive range of data networking products available to medium and large enterprises.
