Distinction Hotels Unveils a Rotorua First -- ‘Smart’ Suites

Distinction Rotorua Hotel & Conference Centre is excited to announce the completion of its hotel ‘smart’ suites refurbishment which has seen the installation of technology that’s a ‘first’ for a Rotorua hotel.

Distinction Rotorua recognises that travellers’ needs are constantly evolving and strives to develop products to match customer requirements. Access to modern technology is one of these key service expectations, so the hotel has installed two high definition, internet compatible, smart TVs with high-speed WIFI in the bedrooms and separate living areas of the property’s nine suites.

All junior suites boast a 45” smart TV in the bedroom and a 50” smart TV in the separate living area, while a very impressive 60” smart TV has been installed in the lounge area of the Presidential Suite.

To complete the technology package, complimentary, unlimited and uncapped WIFI access for laptops and tablets will be extended to guests staying in these smart suites, making staying connected while away from home easier than ever.

The spacious and fully refurbished smart suites have been designed to have a modern, chic, contemporary feel. They boast separate living/dining areas that open up to a balcony overlooking the hotel’s beautiful garden area. They provide the perfect environment to recharge.

Upgraded, luxury super king beds, combined with sumptuous linen, ensure that every guest will wake up feeling well rested.

The completion of these final nine smart suites draws the Fenton Street property’s phased 132 guest rooms refurbishment programme to an end. It means that all guests can now enjoy staying in modern, contemporary rooms, no matter which room type they choose.

Complementing these refurbishments is Distinction Rotorua’s quality cafes, restaurants and bars, located only metres from the new hotel suites. Guests will be spoilt for choice at the hotel’s four restaurants and cafes which serve up tantalising cuisine perfectly executed by talented Executive Chef Sjaack Roos and his team.
