JUCY Wins Top International Award

JUCY Group Ltd has won top accolades at the New Zealand International Business Awards (NZIBA) 2013 – the only tourism business in the country to be recognised in the awards. The company was named winner of the AUT Business School Most Innovative Business Model in International Business.

JUCY was nominated in two categories; ANZ Best Business and AUT Business School Most Innovative Business Model in International Business, and was named joint winner along with NZ Merino.

Tim Alpe, JUCY CEO, says that he is rapt with the award.

“It was an amazing night not just for JUCY but for all the businesses named as finalists in these very prestigious awards. To be named the Most Innovative Business Model in International Business means a huge amount to JUCY especially as it recognises the business we are building outside of New Zealand. It has always been our goal to take JUCY to the world and our launch into Australia and the US has shown us that JUCY has global appeal and can compete on the world stage.

“New Zealand businesses operating internationally are vital for our economy. It was amazing to see so many Kiwi businesses wanting to go global. Our quest now is to keep on “Juci-fying” the world and to make JUCY a truly global tourism brand,” he says.

JUCY has well-established operations in Australia (since 2008) and a fledgling operation in USA (since 2012) with both going from strength to strength. The Australian operation is now one of the largest compact campervan operations in the country, starting out with 100 vehicles and growing to over 500 vehicles and four branches.

JUCY has since also successfully tackled the difficult US market, first hitting the road on the West Coast in 2012. Starting out with only 80 campervans a year ago, this has now more than doubled to 200.

The NZIBA are run by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) and celebrates the success of Kiwi businesses, recognising both professional excellence and innovative practice.
