New Chairman for Gough Group
The Board of Directors of Gough Holdings Limited, and its subsidiary companies, announce that Mr Keith Taylor has been appointed Chairman of the Group following the retirement of Mr Jim Sheed, who has stepped down after six years as Chairman of the Group.
Keith Taylor brings a great depth of boardroom experience to the Chairman’s role. Keith is currently Chairman of the Government Superannuation Fund and Spiers Group Limited, a Director at Port Marlborough Limited, Reserve Bank of New Zealand and Southern Cross Medical Society and was formerly Managing Director of Tower Limited. Mr Taylor has been a member of the Gough Group board for the past five and a half years.
In conjunction with these governance changes, Mr Ben Gough has been appointed Deputy Chairman.
Mr Gough is currently General Manager Strategic Development for the Gough Group and is Co-Dealer Principal of the Caterpillar dealership alongside Group Chief Executive Officer, Karl Smith. Ben is a third generation family member and grandson of the late Tracy T Gough, the founder of the Gough Group. Mr Gough is the majority shareholder of the Gough Group and also holds directorships in Tailorspace Investments Limited, HCG Group Limited and Tin Roof Properties Limited.
Mr Sheed, who has been a director of the Gough Group for seven years, was previously Managing Director of the company. Following this role he was appointed Managing Director and CEO of Hastings Deering (Australia) Limited, the Queensland Caterpillar dealership and part of the wider Sime Darby SDN Berhad group of Malaysia. He also undertook a number of professional directorship roles within Australia and New Zealand. Mr Sheed commenced with Gough Group in August 1973 and has contributed enormously to the Group in both management and governance roles for over 26 years.
