Inland Revenue in line for top accounting graduates
The Inland Revenue Department has joined a fast-growing graduate recruitment programme run by global accounting body CPA Australia.
CPA Australia’s Recognised Employer Program connects the country’s top accounting graduates with employers. Once they have hired the graduates, the employers sponsor and support them on their career paths to becoming a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) – a globally-recognised accounting qualification aimed at developing strategic business leaders.
CPA Australia country manager for New Zealand David Jenkins said: “We are delighted to welcome the Inland Revenue Department to our Recognised Employer Program. Through partnering with us, IRD can now offer a choice of professional designation to New Zealand’s best accounting talent, which will make them even more attractive as a potential employer.”
Giles Southwell, Chief Financial Officer, Inland Revenue said: “With Inland Revenue becoming a recognised employer for CPA Australia, this offers an alternative career and development path for people who work in our organisation.”
Other significant New Zealand employers participating in the Recognised Employer Program include Grant Thornton New Zealand, KPMG New Zealand, Cisco, DHL and AIA.
