CMT Taps Former NetApp Executive as New Senior Vice President of Sales
Dave Engel responsible for managing both large enterprise and commercial enterprise sales teams
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (Sept. 05, 2013) – Technology solutions and cloud enablement provider Computer Media Technologies (CMT) today announced Silicon Valley veteran David Engel as their new senior vice president of sales, responsible for the organization’s large enterprise and commercial enterprise sales teams.
Engel brings more than 16 years of information technology experience to CMT’s growing sales force. Engel most recently served as global enterprise manager for NetApp, Inc. where he oversaw global initiatives, sales and service teams. Prior to that, he served in multiple sales roles for Alcatel and Oracle.
“When we made the decision to fully develop two specific sales teams selling on-prem, hybrid and cloud solutions, we knew we needed to find a dynamic individual to lead this sales organization,” said Kurt Klein, CMT CEO. “With his proven track record of successful sales and business development with a close partner of ours, we are thrilled to welcome Dave to CMT to lead our sales force.”
“Having someone of Dave’s caliber and experience choose CMT in a very competitive market speaks to the quality of the team we’re building.”
As senior vice president, Engel will direct and lead the team responsible for providing hosted, cloud and on-premise solutions to CMT customers, focusing on data management, virtualization, network security and messaging. Engel will also aid in developing and implementing sales strategies to stimulate growth for CMT, while maintaining the organization’s drive to superior customer service.
“CMT has a reputation as one of the top solution integrators on the west coast, which made my choice an easy one,” said Engel. “CMT’s relentless focus on customer success and the quality of employees gives them a unique competitive advantage.  I am proud to join such a strong team and I look forward to extending CMT’s success.”
