EOI released for Justice and Emergency Services Precinct

CHRISTCHURCH CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT UNIT
Market Update #16

4 September, 2013

For Immediate Release

Expressions of Interest are being sought for the role of main construction contractor for Christchurch’s new Justice and Emergency Services Precinct.

The Precinct – an anchor project in the Christchurch Central Recovery Plan – will bring together the city’s emergency services, courts, an emergency service operations centre and will accommodate staff from the Ministry of Justice and Department of Corrections, and other related public servants.

It will be located in the block defined by Lichfield, Colombo, Tuam and Durham Streets. The intention is for the early construction works to begin on the Precinct in February 2014, and for it to be completed by the second quarter of 2017.

The Expressions of Interest (EOI) document released by the Ministry of Justice is now available for viewing on the Government Electronic Tenders Service website www.gets.govt.nz.

Responses to the EOI are due by 23 September.

More on the Justice and Emergency Services Precinct can be viewed at www.ccdu.govt.nz.
