The Icehouse and Telecom get together to grow better business
The Icehouse and Telecom are putting on the first of what they hope will become a monthly meet for Kiwi business owners and leaders in SMEs.
‘Growing Better Business’ is an after-work meet providing inspiration and practical tips to grow business performance.
The event will provide guests the opportunity to network with other business owners.
The first event will take place in Auckland on Thursday 26 September hosted by Icehouse CEO Andy Hamilton. Speaking at the event will be Icehouse co-founder David Irving.
David Irving is a long-term advocate for improving the capability and business performance of New Zealand owner managers, and recently was named as an Officer of the NZ Order of Merit for his services to business and education.
David will be speaking on the topic of Growing through Governance, sharing insights on how getting good advice can lift management performance, provide a range of networks and grow a business.
Guests will have an opportunity to interact with David and ask any burning business questions during a Q session facilitated by Andy Hamilton.
Andy Hamilton says the event is a relaxed way for business owners to get together and gain some value both professionally and personally.
“It’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind and often working in or owning a SME can be lonely. This event gives business owners the chance to meet others just like them and hopefully they will leave with a new connection who can help them or take away some tips they can easily implement in their business,” he says.
Andy Hamilton says this event is a great opportunity for business people to hear from leading experts.
“The chance to gain insights from people with a breadth of experience like David is something I hope business owners will jump at. No matter what stage your business is at, there is always room to improve and grow. Events like this one provide the perfect opportunity to do that,” he says.
CEO at Telecom Retail Chris Quin says Telecom is pleased to support an event encouraging the growth of Kiwi business.
“Telecom’s locally-owned business hubs are focussed on equipping business owners with the tools, capability and technology they need to grow their business. We’re excited to be a part of an event that gives business owners networking opportunities, practical tips and real-world advice to drive growth,” he says.

The event will take place from 5.30-7.00pm Thursday 26 September at Telecom Place in Auckland.
