Aurora Expeditions’ Exclusive Antarctic Savings
Antarctic cruise specialists, Aurora Expeditions, have released a selection of exclusive Antarctic savings on remaining berths for this upcoming 2013/14 season. Don’t miss the opportunity to save on these small-group adventures with 10% off selected departures – that’s a saving of up to US$1,770 per person! Other offers include FREE photography workshops as well as early bird savings for those who are planning their adventure for 2014/15 well in advance.
10% Off Springtime South Georgia
Experience South Georgia & Antarctica in all its glory as masses of penguins and seals invade the pristine shores escaping the long, dark winter. It is truly ‘action stations’ for this short and intense period of time as we witness the stirrings of life in high speed and on full throttle. Multiple daily landings and Zodiac cruises ensure passengers enjoy close-up wildlife encounters and our expert team provide interesting talks on the places we visit.
The 19 day ‘Scotia Sea Springtime’ departs 23 November – 11 December 2013 and starts from US$10,296 (including discount).
10% Off Wild Weddell Sea
Vast ice shelves, tabular bergs, strong currents and sweeping vistas; the Weddell Sea is celebrated for its world-renowned fossil deposits, huge penguin rookeries and two great Antarctic survival epics: Shackleton’s loss of Endurance, and the sinking of Nordenskjold’s Antarctica. Our dedicated palaeontologist, Dr Jeffery Stilwell, from the MONASH University, will assist in interpreting the fascinating history of this remarkable landscape through interesting, interactive talks.
The 12 day ‘Weddell Sea Explorer’ departs 28 February – 11 March 2014 and starts from US$7,380 per person (including discount).
10% Off In Shackleton’s Footsteps
Follow the story of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s fateful Imperial Transantarctic Expedition as we enter its centennial year. We retrace his heroic journey from the Weddell Sea to Elephant Island, then on to (and across) South Georgia. ABC presenter and palaeontologist, Dr Paul Willis, will join the expedition to interpret the ancient landscape and regale the inspiring story of Shackleton’s extraordinary journey.
Expeditioners also have the chance to join the Alpine Crossing and follow Shackleton’s route through inner South Georgia. Our qualified climbing guide leads a small group of ‘crossers’ along the 35 to 50 kilometre route, over two to three days, traversing large, heavily crevassed glaciers and alpine passes. Experience is required and a surcharge applies.
The 20 day ‘In Shackleton’s Footsteps’ departs 11 – 30 March 2014 and starts from US$11,175 per person (including discount).
Free Photography Workshops
Travel with professional photographer, Joshua Holko, on the first voyage of the season when the ice is thick and the light is at its peak for photographers. Josh will provide detailed workshops, one-on-one instruction and dedicated outings to help passengers capture the very best of their Antarctic experience.
The 15 day ‘Scientific Antarctica’ departs 9 – 23 November 2013 and starts from US$9,990 per person including complimentary photography workshops.
