Industrial development continues to expansion
Auckland Airport’s industrial development continues to expand
As part of Auckland Airport’s industrial development strategy, a new warehouse measuring over 3000sqm is being built in the Airport’s Landing precinct.
The warehouse, being built without commitment and due to be completed in June 2014, will be the latest addition to the continuing development of The District’s Landing precinct, joining other recent additions such as the CEVA Logistics, Toll Global Forwarding and ITW Industrial Packaging warehouses.
Peter Alexander, Auckland Airport’s general manager property, says the new warehouse forms part of a targeted speculative development strategy to cater for the ever increasing demand for prime industrial space in The District.
“Our industrial new build programme is part of a development strategy that has come about due to low levels of vacancy for quality industrial space and high occupancy within our Auckland Airport portfolio,” says Mr Alexander.
“We are bringing a superior development to the market here that addresses the fundamentals for the end user – high stud industrial space with good operational areas, a large canopy and an office overlooking the yard area,” continues Mr Alexander. “As well as this, The Landing precinct offers unparalleled proximity and ease of connectivity to New Zealand’s largest transport hub.”
The standalone warehouse, to be situated on Verissimo Drive, will be a 3,350sqm development that includes a 250sqm office, a 1,010sqm breezeway canopy, a 1,838sqm yard and 26 on-site car parks. The warehouse will also feature full drive around access and separate car and truck site access.
