Paymark appoints new independent director
New Zealand’s leading payments provider, Paymark, is delighted to announce the appointment of Vanessa Stoddart as an independent board director.
Paymark CEO Simon Tong says Vanessa brings a wealth of knowledge to the board, which will complement the current array of expertise.
“Vanessa has 25 years experience in the legal, manufacturing, packaging, airline and engineering industries, previously holding senior executive positions with a business transformation focus. Her appointment will ensure we have more perspectives, and ultimately achieve better outcomes for our business, shareholders and customers,” says Tong.
Currently Vanessa divides her time between a number of boards and advisory groups including the Otago University Business School Advisory Board, Better Public Services Advisory Group to Government, Global Women and The New Zealand Refining Company Ltd.
“I’m very excited about working with Paymark. This is a new industry to me, which faces some interesting challenges – innovation needs to be at its core with the focus firmly on the customer and operational integrity,” says Vanessa. “The role will allow me to draw on relevant learnings acquired through past experiences and assist Paymark with its strategic direction.“
“The future of payments, especially what’s coming in the next five to ten years, that’s what really excites me about this business. My goal is to ensure I share my strategic perspectives in order for Paymark to continue to be a world class payments provider well into the future,” she adds.
