MEDIA RELEASE - Three Keys – 16 August 2013
Three Keys to be inspired by David Geor’s career experiences in larger-scale leadership roles throughout New Zealand.
David Geor; CEO of Higgins Group, will speak to Three Keys sharing his experiences gained through a 20 year career in
some of New Zealand’s leading industries.
David’s experience was a significant factor in his appointment as the first non-family member CEO in Higgins’ 55 year
history.
Prior to working at Higgins, David held senior positions as Managing Director at Spotless Service Limited, one of New
Zealand’s largest service based organisations.
Other senior executive positions include CEO of Excell Corporation, a roading and infrastructure company owned by Eric
Watson. David was CEO of Northland Cooperative Dairy Company leading into the merger with Kiwi Dairies of Hawera and CEO
of ENZA immediately following the deregulation of the single desk marketing of NZ apples. Prior to that he held senior
management positions in Affco and in Fletcher Fishing.
In addition David also undertook consultancy roles in a number of other NZ businesses including Downer NZ Ltd, Argenta
Manufacturing (a NZ based global supplier of leading animal health products) as well as a number of other organisations.
David will give an insight on some of his experiences and will touch on leadership within an organisation. He will close
with the three key learnings he feels we might benefit from.
Three Keys is a networking event that is different - listening to innovative Kiwis in a relaxed social environment. It
not only provides opportunities to meet others, Three Keys also inspires the audience to identify potential
opportunities in our community.
David is the fifth speaker of six in the 2013 Three Keys series. Previous speakers this year have included; Noah Hickey
and Sam Johnson.
