Dairy Awards Attracts New Sponsorship
The success of the New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards has attracted new sponsor interest, with 12 major sponsors signed
on to support the 2014 awards programme.
National convenor Chris Keeping says the level of sponsorship and relationship the awards has with its sponsors have
been a significant contributor to the awards’ success, with a record 566 entries received in the 2013 programme.
“Our sponsors – some which have backed us since our inception 25 years ago – have played a critical role in driving
interest from farmers keen to progress in the dairy industry and in providing very real incentives for them to enter.”
Mrs Keeping says the awards newest sponsor, Triplejump, provides risk management solutions to farmers, as well as
business and individuals. Triplejump joins national sponsors Westpac, DairyNZ, Ecolab, Federated Farmers, Fonterra,
Honda Motorcycles NZ, LIC, Meridian Energy, Ravensdown and RD1, along with industry partner Primary ITO, as a major
sponsor.
Triplejump general manager Kerry Forde says Triplejump is excited to graduate to national sponsorship of the awards,
having been a sponsor in a number of regions for the past three years.
“We know that farms rely on the expertise of their people. Our expertise is in developing robust plans to manage the
risks to farm productivity and performance from the unanticipated loss of key people.
“As the awards are centred on celebrating farmers who are leading the way and on sharing knowledge to help make farming
more successful we believe our sponsorship of the awards aligns with our aspirations in the farming sector,” Mr Forde
says.
Planning for the 2014 awards programme, the New Zealand Sharemilker/Equity Farmer of the Year, New Zealand Farm Manager
of the Year and New Zealand Dairy Trainee of the Year, continues at pace.
An announcement on the date and location of the 2014 national awards dinner is expected by the end of August.
