Vote on young Bay entrepreneurs business and product ideas

Community invited to vote on budding young Bay entrepreneurs business and product ideas

In its fifth year promoting innovation and entrepreneurialism in the Bay, the Young Innovator Awards (YiA) has received a record-breaking number of entries. 130 submissions were received in total and once again, the Junior category (school years 9 & 10) proved most popular.

Following the big reveal of the winners at a presentation event on Thursday 8 August, Bayfair Shopping Centre is giving the community the chance to view some of the spectacular submissions received by talented Bay youngsters, at a People’s Choice display in-centre.

Bayfair is inviting locals to the centre to view the exhibition which will include all finalists from 2013’s YiA, and vote on their favourite innovation. From dissolvable toilet tissue to a mobile smoke-detecting application, there will be plenty of food for thought at the display. To view the complete list of finalists, visit the YiA website: www.yia.co.nz/node/152

The winner of the People’s Choice award will receive a $600 Bayfair voucher. Voting forms will be available at the exhibition and it will be in-centre from Sunday 11 to Sunday 25 August. The exhibition is located outside Esquires.
