Central North Island heat of New Zealand Hotel Receptionist of the Year

The International Association for Deputy Managers and Front Office Managers of Luxury Hotels (AICR) are facilitating five regional competitions throughout New Zealand, searching for New Zealand’s best Hotel Receptionist

August 7th 2013 –The International Association for Deputy Managers and Front Office Managers of Luxury Hotels (AICR) are facilitating five regional competitions throughout New Zealand, searching for the best of the best Hotel Receptionist.

August 9th is competition date where we will find out who will go on to compete again at the National competition to be held in Christchurch this September. The national winner will then go on to represent New Zealand at the AICR International Receptionist of the Year competition which will be held in Hamburg, January 2014.

Candidates from leading hotels throughout the country will under go a gruelling panel interview, testing their knowledge on costs, profits, revenue, yield management, staffing level, structure and promotional ideas etc. This is followed by a skill demonstration (role-play) where candidates will need to think on their feet to identify guest’s needs and match them with the highest standard of customer care and professionalism. Paula Roberts from the Sudima Hotel Lake Rotorua took out last years National title and went on to represent New Zealand at the David Campbell Trophy International Receptionist of the Year competition held in Rome.

“The fact that last year’s national winner was from our region, highlights the talent we have here in Rotorua and Taupo. I am confident the next STAR is in our region again this year and this week’s competition will find that very person who will defend our national title in Christchurch this September” Said Blaine Inch, Vice President of AICR Central Branch. The Central North Island’s heat is being held on Friday 9th August at Hilton Lake Taupo. Various Hotels from the Central Plateau region including Hilton Lake Taupo, Millennium Manuels Taupo and Sudima Lake Rotorua are set to compete for the regional, national and international title of AICR International Hotel Receptionist of the Year.
