Precious Peg Signs Exclusive Online Deal with Karen Walker
August 7 2013: Two-and-a half-years after launching their luxury online fashion retail business, Precious Peg, young
Queenstown entrepreneurs Lani Arnott and Sonia Ross are celebrating a significant milestone with the signing of an
exclusive deal with prominent international fashion designer Karen Walker.
The appointment as the exclusive online-only Karen Walker stockist in New Zealand is an exciting development for the
company following on from recent financial backing by private investment bank NZ Think.
“We have had a very busy year and our overall development has been much more rapid than we planned,” says CEO Lani
Arnott. “We have quickly become New Zealand’s leading online fashion store and our partnership agreement with Karen
Walker, establishing us as the exclusive solely online retailer of the label, is proof that we are definitely on the
right track.”
Karen Walker says her company is “thrilled to be working with Precious Peg. As the exclusive online-only stockist of
Karen Walker in New Zealand they are great supporters of our apparel, eyewear and jewellery lines”.
Arnott says Precious Peg has enormous potential for further growth.
“The investment by NZ Think provides us with important financial support as well as strategic growth assistance which
will help us push further into international markets. While we are very serious about this we are also having a lot of
fun building a business which promotes beautiful clothing for women both in New Zealand and around the world.”
“It’s a bit of a dream come true to create a business out of something we are both so passionate about,” says Arnott who
has recently relinquished her job as a lawyer to work fulltime at the helm of Precious Peg.
“Sonia, who is our creative director, and I are both obsessive about fashion and we are continually looking to meet the
demands of our discerning clientele. It is significant for us to have the recognition of a distinguished brand such as
Karen Walker and it sends an important signal that we are involved in this venture for the long haul.”
