New challenger to liven up New Zealand TV shopping market
Competition in the TV shopping market will heat up in August with the arrival of the TV Shopping Network (TVSN) broadcast on SKY Channel 24 and Freeview Channel 20 from August 20.
Broadcasting 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including at least 12 hours of live content daily, TVSN will showcase a wide range of products, many exclusive across fashion, health, beauty, kitchen, electronics, homewares and jewellery including household named brands such as KitchenAid, Charlie Brown, Nikon and OPI.
TVSN has been operating for over 18 years and is the only shopping network across the Tasman. The shows are broadcast live daily from dedicated TVSN studios and are hosted by a range of presenters including Kiwi Jamie Malcolm.
Chris Eade, CEO of Direct Group, owner of TVSN, said: “We are excited to be able to bring the TVSN shopping experience into New Zealand homes. Working with SKY and Freeview represents an exciting new opportunity for TVSN and Direct Group.”
“New Zealand viewers are about to experience the most entertaining way to shop” says Kiwi-born Eade. “Our shows feature in-depth product demonstrations, brand stories, international guests, testimonials and even the odd blooper! The opportunity to see the product presented live on TV brings products alive in an entertaining and engaging way”.
“TVSN has been successful in Australia over many years, with customer engagement at an all-time high. We’re confident this will be reflected in the New Zealand market and our quality product offering and focus on customer service will also be well received,” he says.
Customers can purchase over the phone toll free 24/7 or online where TVSN features over 8,000 products.
TVSN is a division of the Direct Group, a direct to consumer multi-channel organisation that was launched in 1985. It operates across New Zealand and Australia online, EDM, catalogue and television, and distribution.
The TVSN New Zealand website will go live on Tuesday 6th August www.tvsn.co.nz
