George Hill Saddened By Hills Flooring Voluntary Liquidation
George Hill, previously Managing Director of Hills Floorings and a member of the Hill family, regrets the recent
voluntary liquidation announcement of this well-known New Zealand company.
“Hills Flooring has been run by my family for 50 years and it’s sad to see such a turn of events from this industry
stalwart,” says Mr Hill. Mr Hill led the commercial flooring operation for Hills Flooring for 15 years before joining
Flooring Brands in 2012 where he heads up the successful Master Kelwin business in New Zealand.
“Master Kelwin presented a great opportunity to continue to develop the commercial carpet industry in New Zealand and,
on a personal level, to successfully negotiate new strategies that I had wanted to explore for some time,” says Mr Hill.
Master Kelwin is Australia’s largest commercial flooring operation, and has expanded its business since becoming part of
Flooring Brands in 2010. Master Kelwin now has seven branches in New Zealand, in Auckland, Wellington, Tauranga, Napier,
Nelson, Dunedin and Christchurch.
“The Master Kelwin business continues to go from strength to strength under George’s guidance and we’re fortunate to
have him as part of our team,” says Flooring Brands Chairman Rodney Martin.
