New Executive Director For Public Libraries
Public Libraries of New Zealand (the Association of Public Library Managers) has appointed digital strategist and marketer Tim Antric as their new executive director.
Association chair Paula Murdoch said “we’re thrilled to have Tim join the team as public libraries take a bigger role in our communities and look to how we continue to engage and connect across every part of New Zealand.”
Tim has held senior digital strategy and marketing roles with Wellington’s GSL Network and Sydney’s Zuni. He has also established and led not-for-profit organisations in the UK and NZ.
Antric’s expertise in communications and engagement has been recognised by many New Zealand marketers. His work in connecting New Zealanders in the digital age has seen the development of such projects as the Ministry of Health’s breastfeeding campaign on Facebook and YouTube.
Antric said he was excited to be joining Public Libraries of New Zealand. He says “public libraries are the link between communities and the digital world, connecting people and creating communities in new and exciting ways.”
Antric is convinced that libraries have as much value to add in our lives today as they did for our parents.
He is looking forward to working with New Zealand’s public libraries as they continue to deliver world-class services through community hubs, digital and mobile channels.
Today and tomorrow libraries will continue to connect Kiwis with knowledge and information.
