International Calling and Text Costs Take a Dive

Keeping up with friends and family overseas has become a whole lot more appealing today, with Telecom announcing a new international calling and texting offer.

The $9 International Talk Text Extra allows up to 90-minutes worth of calling and 90 texts to Australia, UK, USA, Canada and Ireland for $9 a month.

Telecom’s Chief Marketing Officer, Jason Paris said Telecom wants to empower customers to use their phones to contact friends around the world without the burden of a hefty bill.

“We’re a nation of travellers who reside a long way from everyone else in the world, so really, a deal like this makes sense. Everyone knows someone travelling or living overseas and we want our customers to be able to stay in contact with the rest of the world without it hitting them in the pocket.

“We see this deal as a way to give customers certainty around what they’re spending when they call and text overseas. It takes away that nagging worry about what they may be spending and allows them to focus on what’s important - connecting with the people they care about.’

Customers can sign up to and manage their $9 International Talk and Text Extra on their phone through the Your Telecom application or online at www.telecom.co.nz. Alternatively, they can visit their nearest Telecom store.
