NZITO welcomes release of 2012 educational performance data

NZITO welcomes the release of 2012 educational performance data

24 July 2013

The New Zealand Industry Training Organisation (NZITO) is the industry training organisation for New Zealand’s key export food industries dairy manufacturing, meat processing and the seafood industry. Today the Tertiary Education Commission published the educational performance indicators for the 2012 year.

These results rank NZITO 7th in each of the key measures. NZITO scored 88% for the achievement of credits and 89% for the completion of programmes, compared to 70% and 68% respectively for the whole industry training sector. This high level performance is a testament to the industries’ commitment to formal NZQA based training programmes that helps up-skill New Zealanders whilst supporting our export food industries.

NZITO extend sincere thanks to all of its stakeholders for their support and efforts in attaining this high performance. These stakeholders include the companies, industry associations, training coordinators, training providers, company based trainers and assessors, government agencies, NZITO staff, and most especially the trainees themselves for their on-going commitment to industry training.

These results are especially notable given some constraints of working in seasonal industries that poses challenges for structured training, ranking well above other ITO who operate in similar production or seasonal environments.
