Jeep Heads Overland to Better Value For Wrangler
Jeep is heading Overland to achieve even more value for money for its legendary Wrangler with the launch in New Zealand of the Jeep Wrangler Overland which adds increased levels of luxury and convenience that will enable the iconic Wrangler to compete with soft roader rivals without any loss of the Wrangler’s unique off road ability.
Standard features include the advanced Uconnect Media Centre with SatNav, reversing camera and leather upholstery while outside premium refinements such as automatic headlights, new 18 inch polished silver alloys with Bridgestone Dueler tyres, and body-coloured flares and hard top will appeal to the urban SUV owners and offroad adventurers alike.
The Jeep Wrangler Overland is equipped with the 3.6 litre Pentastar® V6 petrol engine and five-speed automatic transmission. This package delivers 209 kW at 6,350 rpm and 347 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm, with an impressive 90 per cent of maximum torque available between 1,800 and 6,350 rpm. Fuel consumption for the combined cycle is 11.7 l/100 km.
With a price difference over the standard versions of the Jeep Wrangler of $11,000, the Jeep Wrangler Overland package represents a saving of more than $7,000.
“The Wrangler Overland enables Jeep’s most iconic car to compete fully with so-called ‘soft roader’ four wheel drives in terms of luxury, comfort and equipment,” explains Clyde Campbell, Director of Fiat Chrysler New Zealand. “But at the same time it maintains its legendary off road ability, giving Wrangler Overland a combination of unique styling, features and ability that is unique in the market place. The fact that, with a substantial saving over buying the extra equipment separately, it also does this with superb value-for-money, makes the Overland irresistibly attractive to buyers who want to combine luxury and refinement with genuine off-road ability in a car that could only be a real Jeep.”
