Asia-Europe Foundation invites applications for its Journalists’ Colloquium
The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) invites all interested journalists from Asian-Europe Meeting (ASEM) member states to
apply for its 9th ASEF Journalists' Colloquium. This event will take place from the 9 -11 November 2013 in New Delhi (Gurgaon), India. It will be held in conjunction with the 11th ASEM Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New Delhi, India from 11-12 November 2013.
The theme of the 9th ASEF Journalist' Colloquium is on the challenges for the media in reporting on sustainable
development. This will specifically focus on the looming expiry (2015) of the United Nation's Millennium Development
Goals made in 2000 and its intended successor, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It will also cover the themes
of energy, green growth and economy, and poverty reduction.
ASEF is a foundation that advances mutual understanding and collaboration between the people of Asia and Europe through
intellectual and exchanges. The ASEF Journalists' Colloquium will host journalists and experts from Asia and Europe for
a closed-door, informal meeting to discuss important collective issues of concern and related media challenges.
The intended outcome of the Colloquium is to create a "Guide to the Issues" publication, which will be made available to
a wider audience as a tool for improved reporting.
