Air Tahiti Nui Increases Flights to Papeete and LA

Air Tahiti Nui Increases Flights to Papeete and LA

Air Tahiti Nui has announced it will increase its Tahiti and Los Angeles connections as part of a global overhaul to give New Zealanders better access to two of the most sought-after destinations in the world.

From December, the airline will add a Tuesday afternoon Auckland to Papeete service, complimenting the existing Thursday and Sunday flights and bringing the total weekly Tahiti services to five, including two codeshare flights with Air New Zealand.

New Zealanders will also have improved access to Los Angeles via Papeete with weekly flights increasing to three in both directions.

The additional services, which start on December 10, are available to book now.

Additional flights have previously been added during peak season but Air Tahiti Nui General Manager New Zealand Australia Mark Hutchinson said this increase in frequency provided Kiwis with fantastic year-round options to Tahiti and Los Angeles.

“We’ve experienced year on year growth in passengers travelling to Tahiti, which has enabled us to launch this additional service with confidence. With better and more frequent connections, our guests will be spoilt for choice and have more flexibility when it comes to planning their holiday,” Mr Hutchinson said.

With a wider range of flights to Papeete and Los Angeles, Mr Hutchinson said Tahiti was now a more attractive stopover en route to the US.

“Who wouldn’t want to stopover somewhere as idyllic as Tahiti on the way to LA?”

For travel straight through to Los Angeles, Air Tahiti Nui guests will be checked all the way from Auckland in the same seat with only a short transit in Papeete. The service arrives in LA at 11am, allowing plenty of time to make ongoing connections across the USA.

The airline is also enhancing its fleet of Airbus A340-300 aircraft with a complete cabin reconfiguration including more comfortable seats and a new inflight entertainment system.
