New Crown Irrigation Chair welcomes opportunity
The chair of the newly appointed Crown Irrigation Investments board, Alison Paterson, is welcoming the opportunity to help develop large-scale irrigation infrastructure.
Primary Industries Minister Nathan Guy has this morning announced the establishment of the new company and the appointment of all members of the Establishment Board to the board of the new company.
The new company was incorporated today 1 July 2013 to manage the Crown’s investments in irrigation schemes.
“I wish to thank Minister Guy for his direction over the past several months as we have developed the investment strategy and business plan and set up the company. I also thank him for the confidence he has expressed in the board.
“I also thank my fellow board members, who have helped this process run smoothly, as well as the government officials and the project team who have provided excellent support.”
“I am looking forward to working with all the parties, including backers of new regional irrigation schemes and those who are interested in this exciting new type of investment.
“This company will look to support well-designed projects on the Government’s behalf, particularly with community engagement and planning for good environmental outcomes.”
