Heart of the City Launches 453 Reasons to Love Your City via Instagram
What do you love about Auckland’s central city? From the whole baked snapper at Café Hanoi to enjoying the winter sunshine in Silo Park, Heart of the City is asking Aucklanders and visitors to share the central city experiences they most love via Instagram.
Love Your City is an Instagram-driven campaign where people will be asked to share the things they most love about our fabulous BIG little City. By uploading that magic photograph to Instagram and adding the hashtag #loveyourcityblc, images of the central city will be shared with the world. Heart of the City will then curate the images on their BIGlittleCity.co.nz website and Facebook page.
Whether it’s shopping in the super stylish Britomart precinct or enjoying a show at the urban Basement Theatre, Heart of the City are publishing a list of 453 urban experiences to inspire Aucklanders and visitors. By sharing their favourite experiences on the list via this of the moment campaign, Love Your City will tap into the urban behaviour of hashtagging and sharing images via Instagram.
If someone is in a restaurant or at a gig, they can then see their photos shared, populating images across the 453 experiences around the central city on the dedicated gallery of the BIG little City website and Facebook page.
For the keen photographers out there (and the slightly competitive), some images will be shortlisted to be displayed in a series of street posters throughout the central city during August 2013. The very best of these images will then be selected to feature in an exhibition being put on by Heart of the City as part of Artweek in mid-October, 2013. To complement the Love Your City campaign, a series of film clips will be released via the BIG little City channels showcasing some of the Instagram images and 453 experiences.
Take part and hashtag #loveyourcityblc to share your favourite of the 453 experiences within the BIG little City.
