Public to Vote in Business Awards
For what is thought to be the first time in the twenty year history of the Electra Business awards in Kapiti and
Horowhenua, members of the public are to have the opportunity to vote in one of the categories.
From 24 June to the 3rd of July, Retail and Service Businesses can register into the Customer Choice awards. Then from
Monday 8th July, customers will be able to vote for their favourite businesses and score them against several criteria.
Voting will be available on line at www.bkh.org.nz and in the entrant premises until 9th August. The process will be very quick and easy.
Chair of awards organisers Business Kapiti Horowhenua, Mark Ternent, says it is expected that a number of the entrants
in the Excellence Awards will put themselves forward in this category, however he anticipates that there’ll be a number
of retail stores and service businesses that will only enter into Customer Choice.
“The Customer Choice results will be determined purely by the public and there will not be any form of assessment or
judgement by the awards team,” he said.
The Retail section is being defined as for retail businesses including not for profit retailers. The voting questions
asked relate to staff, product choice, store ambience and overall experience.
The Service section is for service businesses and other non-retail businesses including not for profit and other
organisations. The voting questions asked relate to staff, response time, quality of service and overall experience.
