New high-powered Ford Mondeo Titanium EcoBoost lands in New Zealand

The most powerful yet production Ford Mondeo Titanium is due to hit New Zealand’s shores this month with a new high-powered 2.0L EcoBoost™ GTDi petrol engine with PowerShift® 6-speed automatic transmission.

Available in the Mondeo Titanium hatch, the new high-powered 2.0-litre EcoBoost will generate 176kW max power and 340Nm max torque while also achieving an improved fuel efficiency of 7.7 L/100km combined cycle and only 179 g/km of CO2 emissions. 

By combining the turbocharged, direct injection technology of its 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine with a six-speed PowerShift transmission, Ford has been able not only to achieve a sporty and rewarding driver experience, but also to deliver a significantly improved environmental performance.

The Ford Mondeo, also available in LX and Zetec spec levels, has been very successful in New Zealand, having outsold all its segment competitors in 2012, including the Toyota Camry. The current EcoBoost engine powered at 149kW and 300Nm will remain an option for the Mondeo Zetec. The Mondeo also has an engine option of the 2.0L Duratorq 16V turbo diesel available throughout the range.
