Corbel Construction Appoints Kevin Burke as Group Construction Manager
Christchurch-based construction company Corbel Construction has appointed Kevin Burke as Construction Manager across its
three divisions: Commercial Construction, Residential Building and Joinery Manufacturing.
Kevin joins Corbel from Mainzeal Construction where he was their Auckland Construction Manager. At Mainzeal, Kevin
project managed 8 Nugent, a $30 million mixed use facility in Grafton for Neil Property Group and Victory Christian Church, a $36 million refurbishment and underground development in Freemans Bay. Prior to emigrating to New Zealand in 2008,
he held senior roles with companies such as Bovis Lend Lease where he was responsible for Project Harlequin, a £160 million project to build eight television studios for BSkyB.
Kevin has a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Building Engineering from the Royal School of Military Engineering, Kent,
and a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management from the Open University, Milton Keynes.
Corbel Construction’s managing director Craig Jones said, “Kevin has managed the construction of many large and complex
commercial construction projects over some 20 years. We are fortunate to have been able to secure his experience and
expertise as we embark on expanding our Commercial Construction business.”
Currently a mid-sized construction company, Corbel is best-known for its delivery of small to medium sized commercial
projects, and mid-to-upper end residential projects. More recently, it has become involved in repair and rebuild work
resulting from the Canterbury earthquakes and is looking to capitalize on this work to expand its business more
generally.
“Looking ahead, Corbel plans to undertake larger commercial construction projects which accounts for Kevin’s appointment
as we seek to expand our commercial division and grow the business. Over the next three months, we expect to announce
further senior appointments to this end,” Craig Jones said.
