Rotorua Business Perception Survey underway
ROTORUA 29.04.13: The Rotorua Business Perception Survey is currently underway to find out how local business owners perceive the city’s business environment.
Local company APR Consultants is conducting the survey until 13 May. The survey is part of the Rotorua Sustainable Economic Growth Strategy which was developed by Rotorua District Council (RDC), local business and community stakeholders to help stimulate growth within the district.
RDC Economic & Regulatory Services group manager, Mark Rawson, said the survey asks about business investments, setting up and trading, as well as business marketing and support services. He said all answers will remain confidential, and results will be used to help improve the business environment in Rotorua.
“It’s important to understand how the local market perceives Rotorua ‘the destination’. Whether their views are reality or not, it identifies the areas we need to work on. The purpose of this research is to identify things that we could do better to attract new and retain existing business investments within the district.
Rotorua mayor Kevin Winters said the survey provides local businesses the opportunity to have their say and put their ideas forward.
“The Rotorua Sustainable Economic Growth Strategy is about working together to achieve the desired outcomes. We’re hoping as many Rotorua business leaders, owners and senior managers will participate because the information will also help guide future activity and investment from Grow Rotorua and RDC.”
The online survey is the first of three surveys planned as part of the Rotorua Sustainable Economic Growth Strategy. The other two will look at Rotorua as a place to live, work and visit.
All completed surveys will go into a draw to win one of ten ‘dinner for two’ vouchers up to the value of $100 each. The link to the Rotorua Business Perception Survey is apr.co.nz/busperceptions
