Heather Hayden appointed CEO of Save the Children

Save the Children New Zealand has appointed Heather Hayden as chief executive Officer.
Former chief executive of Refugee Services Aotearoa New Zealand, Ms Hayden has previously held a successful career as a senior communications executive in a number of organisations, including Civil Air Navigation Services and Airways New Zealand.
During her time at Refugee Services, Ms Hayden led over 500 volunteers and staff of professionals assisting the 750 refugees who enter New Zealand each year under the Government’s quota scheme to resettle. As part of its strategic transformation, Heather led the successful integration of Refugee Services into Red Cross.
Prior to her tenure at Refugee Services, Heather was Director of Engineroom Productions for seven years. She specialised in strategic communications, public affairs and change management.

Ms Hayden assumes her role on 29 April 2013.
