Hot jobs this
quarter
Payroll Professionals and Trade Workers are among the candidates in demand this quarter, according to the Hays Quarterly Hotspots.
According to
the latest Quarterly Hotspots, out now and covering April to
June 2013, pockets of shortages for specific skills remain
in a number of sectors including accountancy and finance
industry, especially Payroll Managers, Senior Payroll
Consultants and Payroll Officers.
“There is a lack of
new candidate entries to the market and turnover continues
due to retirement and movement overseas. The demand for
payroll positions has remained relatively constant and as a
result there is an increasing demand for skilled and
experienced payroll individuals,” says Jason Walker,
Managing Director of Hays in New Zealand.
There are also clear shortages occurring in the trades and labour due to the continuing work on the Christchurch rebuild in particular.
“As the Christchurch residential repair
and rebuild program gathers pace, the demand for Carpenters,
Painters, Plasterers, Tilers and Scaffolders is
increasing,” says Jason.
“The number of staff
required on site at any one time has been impacted due to
the majority of the work being smaller projects spread
across multiple sites. This will continue to be an area of
high demand as new build and commercial work
commences.”
According to the Hays Quarterly Report for April to June 2013, demand is highest for the following skilled professionals:
