Emirates To Add Direct Connection From NZ To Stockholm
Emirates will offer New Zealanders a second destination in Scandinavia from September 4 when the airline starts services
to Stockholm, offering a direct connection at Dubai with its daily flights from Auckland and Christchurch.
“Following our successful launch into Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2011 we have been closely evaluating options for further
expansion in Scandinavia. Sweden, with its stable and growing economy, is the perfect location to extend our regional
presence,” said Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline.
Operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, the daily service will offer three cabin classes with eight seats in First Class, 42
seats in Business Class and 304 seats in Economy Class. With over 130 destinations in its international network,
Emirates customers will benefit from convenient flight schedules that will connect Scandinavia with the Far East, West
Asia and Australasia.
All four of Emirates’ daily flights from New Zealand to Dubai will connect with the new daily flight to Stockholm, which
will depart Dubai as EK157 at 7.15am and arrive at Stockholm Arlanda Airport at 12 noon local time the same day.
Throughout all cabin classes, passengers can enjoy over 1,400 channels of entertainment on demand on ice, the airline's award-winning in-flight entertainment system. Passengers on all Emirates’ flights also have the added
bonus of extra baggage allowance with 30 kilograms for those travelling in Economy Class, 40 kilograms for Business
Class and 50 kilograms for First Class.
Stockholm is the most populated urban area in Scandinavia with over 1.4 million residents. Emirates’ launch of Stockholm
will follow on from the launch of service to Haneda, Japan, on 3rd June. Closely following the launch of the Stockholm
service in September Emirates will launch a daily flight to Clark in the Philippines on 1st October.
