Real Journeys makes significant
internal appointment
After undergoing an executive recruitment
process for the newly created Director of Sales position
Real Journeys has appointed internal candidate Ryan
Ingram.
Ryan has been International Sales Manager – Australia, India and Japan for the past three years and prior to that worked for 13 years for Kirra Tours, a New Zealand travel wholesaler.
Chief Executive Richard Lauder says although they interviewed some top external candidates they could not go past Ryan’s industry knowledge and passion for the business.
“It’s always good to see someone rise through the ranks, everyone at Real Journeys is delighted for Ryan and excited about what the future holds,” says Richard.
The Director of Sales position encompasses sales and marketing functions and sits on the Executive Leadership Team.
Ryan says he’s naturally pleased with the appointment and keen to get his teeth into things.
“It’s a big and exciting role. Real Journeys is a remarkably successful business with a proud and unique history, I look forward to helping it realise further growth opportunities.”
The Director of Sales position was created following the resignation of current National Sales Manager Kirsten Long and the movement of Real Journeys Director and Head of International Sales Tony McQuilkin to the new position of Commercial Director.
“I’d like to acknowledge
Kirsten’s significant contribution to Real Journeys. The
industry holds her in such high regard which is a testament
to her professionalism and passion for the business. We
wish Kirsten all the best in her travels,” says
Richard.
Ryan will commence his new
position on April 8 from Adelaide. He will relocate to
Queenstown in June along with his wife Emma and children;
Zara (3) and Harvey (7 months).
