Education Technology Conference Examines Global Opportunities for Local Companies.

Education technology, or EdTech, is the technology world's new cool kid with investment in the sector surpassing
$1billion in the United States alone in 2012, and worldwide the industry is estimated to be worth around $15billion. New
Zealand, and Wellington in particular, with it's strengths in education and technology innovation, is well placed to
leverage the global interest in the sector.
On April 12 a conference in Wellington will bring together globally renowned speakers to discuss what the opportunities
are for New Zealand companies in the EdTech space.
eT4e - EdTech for Export - is the inaugural national EdTech conference. eT4e is for both individuals and organisations
who want to understand and be part of the business growth and export opportunities that EdTech offers. eT4e will share
export success stories, provide global EdTech world views, and explain potential funding and business development
support for the sector.
eT4e also aims to kickstart a collaborative EdTech sector for New Zealand where networks and partnerships can be built
for an EdTech exports future. The conference is being organised by Education New Zealand, Learning Media, and Grow
Wellington, the Wellington region's economic development agency.

eT4e will feature speakers from the U.S.A, Asian and Australian markets and local companies that are making a big impact
offshore. International speakers include; Karen Billings from USA’s Software & Information Industry Association, Karl Engvist from global EdTech leader Pearson, and Tim Brooke-Hunt from Australia's
ABC TV. Local speakers include, Wellington-founded, international children's gaming company Minimonos and web-based
assessments company Avancert – a successful Creative HQ alumni.
