Allan Scott Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc -Summer in a Bottle
As the last of the summer sun sets its time to pack away the backyard cricket sets, pull the covers over the barbecues and take our final twilight strolls along the beach.
But now you can reminisce about the summer that was with a glass of Allan Scott Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012.
The 2012 Sauvignon Blanc is an intense wine which tightens up the palate, giving great length and dancing along to a clean mouth-watering finish - each glass a perfect celebration of summertime.
Sensational weather in the later parts of the growing season meant the grapes hung on the vines for two weeks longer than usual allowing hugely intense aromatics to develop without becoming over ripe.
A beautifully distinctive wine to savour and enjoy, Allan Scott Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012 bursts with intense aromatics, teasing the palate with initial soft and fruity flavours balanced by an herbaceous acidity synonymous with Marlborough.
With aromatics of passion fruit, dried herb, tomato leaf and capsicum, complement Allan Scott Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012 with flavourful summer salads and fresh, decadent seafood dishes. Or simply enjoy it on its own as a crisp, refreshing aperitif with friends - the summer of Sauvignon Blanc has never tasted better!
And with a fresh new label and bottle to reflect the premium quality of the wine, the Allan Scott Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012 is now encased within a traditional antique green French burgundy bottle, also home to the entire Allan Scott Estate Range (White Label).
Owner of Allan Scott Family Winemakers, Allan Scott, says with the all of the Estate-owned vineyards now producing fruit, the company is able to take advantage of the individual characteristics of each particular vineyard.
"With different soil types and vine age at particular sites we can obtain a mouth-filling profile of Sauvignon Blanc flavours from typical Marlborough herbaceousness, to very ripe tropical flavours," says Scott.
According to Scott, the packaging refresh for the Allan Scott Sauvignon Blanc 2012 centres on a desire for superior quality stock paper and a change of bottle to better reflect the quality of the wine itself.
"From a clear Bordeaux bottle to an antique green French burgundy bottle, the Allan Scott Sauvignon Blanc 2012 has a more premium aesthetic, and of course housed in a new bottle, it now tastes better!" he says.
