First Assistance Strengthens Leadership Group

First Assistance Strengthens Leadership Group

First Assistance, New Zealand’s leading emergency assistance company, has recently appointed staff to two newly created senior roles, a result of the company’s growth over the last year and business development plans.

Alan Roberts and Graham Denyer will take up key roles as Operations Director and Chief Medical Officer respectively, building on a strong leadership team at First Assistance and enhancing the company’s client offering.

Denyer will head up First Assistance’s in-house medical team, focusing on medical governance and clinical decision making. As the ‘medical face’ of First Assistance, Denyer will oversee all medical interactions between the company and its clients to ensure a high level of care is received with appropriately contained costs.

Denyer brings a wealth of knowledge to the position, having worked for the past five years in Australia for the Polar Medicine Unit of the Australian Antarctic program. With his experience in remote medical case management, repatriation logistics and medical network development, Denyer is a valuable addition to First Assistance.

Adding further to the strength of the First Assistance medical team is the recent appointment of Dr Mitesh Patel (operating out of the UK). Patel’s appointment further develops a strong panel of doctors and nurses reporting in to Denyer. Patel brings a background of clinical practice from highly regarded London hospitals, along with a number of years working in the assistance industry in the UK.

As Operations Director, Roberts will be responsible for continuing the high level of customer service and implementing systems to further develop best practice procedures across all trading divisions of the business for both national and international expansion.

In his previous role, Roberts worked for Cardlink Systems Limited as General Manager for Fuel and Fleet, specialising in the provision of the fuel card and fleet management.

Roberts brings to the role fifteen years experience in senior management positions within the service industry and a wealth of experience in service enhancement and strategic business development.
