Acclaimed Glass Artist Toasts St Patrick’s Day with a Limited Edition Bottle for Jameson

David Smith, a traditional glass artist, has designed a special limited edition bottle for Jameson Irish Whiskey ahead of St Patrick’s Day, 17th March. The bottle marks one of Ireland’s most celebrated days and provides the perfect opportunity for Jameson drinkers around the world to have a true taste of the Irish celebrations on this special day.
The contemporary bottle design was inspired by the intricate glass etching and ornate gilding synonymous with the décor of great Dublin pubs where Jameson has been enjoyed for generations. David’s design reflects a classic back bar mirror and encourages you to “Embrace Your Irish Spirit” as part of the March celebrations.
The uniqueness of the design and limited availability of the bottle means this is a must have for those who want to embrace their Irish spirit with friends on St Patrick’s Day.
David is the epitome of a modern craftsman, who is on a quest to discover and share knowledge and understanding of the processes involved in this ancient craft before it becomes a lost art.
David Smith commented: “Being both a whiskey drinker, and a Jameson fan, it was an immense opportunity which I couldn’t refuse. It was a natural fit as we both preserve craft and tradition in a contemporary way. Having the opportunity to design an iconic bottle which has hardly changed in two hundred years was one that I’m not presented with often, so I am extremely proud to have stamped my signature style onto the bottle.”
The limited edition bottle forms part of Jameson’s global St Patrick’s Day celebrations, and bars across New Zealand will also be celebrating on St Patrick’s Day with Jameson.
Whether you are enjoying the celebrations in New Zealand, Dublin or around the world, Jameson will bring the St Patrick’s Day celebrations to you.
The special limited edition Jameson bottle designed by David Smith is available in New Zealand from 1 March 2013 in leading liquor retailers – RRP $63.99.
