New executive for region’s wine organisation
James Medina has stepped into the role as executive officer of Hawke’s Bay Winegrowers Inc., the regional wine industry organisation that represents local grape growers and wine makers.
He replaces Lyn Cheyne (Bevin) who coordinated activities for the 170 grape growers and 80 winery members since 2002, the same year that American Medina came to New Zealand for a three-year stint as a consultant senior business manager with Progressive Enterprises Ltd based in Auckland.
With an extensive background in business strategy, sales and marketing, Mr Medina is keen to utilise his many years of food and beverage industry experience to continue to grow the Hawke’s Bay wine brand. “I want to make sure that our region and our wines are known for the quality they are, locally, nationally and internationally.”
