Rhythm Group Appoints New CEO

Rhythm Group Appoints New CEO

1 March 2013

Rhythm Group is pleased to announce the appointment of new CEO, Kieran Spillane. Rhythm Group owns and operates a range of festivals and events, having built its success up from flagship festival Rhythm and Vines.

Kieran Spillane is bringing his extensive music industry experience to continue the company’s growth in a very competitive environment. He spent 12 years in the Irish division of Live Nation, the world’s leading live entertainment company, where he was a Senior Executive. Prior to that, Spillane worked for the Mean Fiddler Music Group in London, and also lived in New Zealand in the 1990s, where he was Finance Director at Gibson Group in Wellington.

He has now settled in Auckland with his Kiwi wife and their three children, and looks forward to his new role at the head of a growing company:

“I am genuinely excited at the prospect of bringing the Rhythm Group into its next phase. Now entering its 11th year, Rhythm and Vines has firmly established itself as New Zealand's premier outdoor music event. My vision is to continue improving all our existing events, with a focus on maximising our customers’ experience. In addition, I believe the potential of the Rhythm Group is enormous and I look forward to the challenge of delivering many new entertainment opportunities.”

In 2012, Rhythm Group ran a number of successful new events in a different locations, including; Rhythm and Alps in Canterbury, R&V Soundcheck at Vector Arena in Auckland, R&A Soundcheck in Dunedin, and Feast – Gisborne’s wine, food and music festival. In late 2011 Rhythm and Sands festival was launched in Ko Phangan, Thailand, and has been running on a regular basis ever since.

Later this month, the group is bringing R&V headliner Netsky’s album tour to venues in Hamilton, Wellington and Dunedin, before focusing on the progress of the larger festivals later in the year.

R&V founder Hamish Pinkham says, "We've reached our ten year milestone now, and the company has so much potential for growth. It's going to be great to see what Kieran's years of experience will bring to the table, the whole team is happy to welcome him on board."
