Online accounting software leader Xero is thrilled to announce the results of the New Zealand Xero Partner Awards for 2012. These annual awards recognise organisations for their delivery of services using Xero and/or delivery of high quality innovation and marketing.

This year an additional special award was added for Most Valuable Professional, and awarded to Accountant Peter McCarroll of Lower Hutt for his assistance and contribution to the community spirit through the Xero online forums.

“The small business economy is the biggest contributor to GDP in New Zealand by far,” says CEO Rod Drury. “The small business experts recognized at the Xero awards are at the forefront of the technology wave and it’s inspiring to see them get alongside their customers to help them grow. These are the people making a difference to New Zealand.”

The Xero Partner Awards were celebrated on the evening of the Xerocon NZ 2013 conference held on Friday 22 February, which attracted 800 attendees from the accounting, bookkeeping and software development industries.

As well as bringing attendees up to speed with the latest Xero thinking and product roadmaps, Xerocon supports small business success through educating and enthusing advisors in more efficient and effective ways to assist small businesses and themselves.

With the continuing expansion of the Xero global community of accounting, bookkeeping and API partners, Xerocon conferences will be held this year in Melbourne, London and for the first time San Francisco – on 5 September ahead of the finals of the 2013 America’s Cup. Xerocon is the largest event of its type in New Zealand and becoming one of the biggest industry events in each region Xero operates in.

• Xero MVP: Peter McCarroll, Lower Hutt
