Green Fuels NZ Limited purchases Biodiesel New Zealand’s Production Facilities
Green Fuels NZ Limited is proud to announce that - on February 3rd - the business completed the purchase of Biodiesel
New Zealand Ltd’s biodiesel production facilities from Solid Energy.
Green Fuels NZ Limited has been established by two former BDNZ employees, Martin Johnson and Karl Hatton. Martin was
recently the Fuel Business Manager while Karl was the Production Manager. Martin and Karl are supported by Lyttelton
based ship repair and transport company - Stark Bros Ltd.
“Both Karl and I are passionate about making and supplying environmentally friendly fuels and - when the opportunity
came to purchase the business - both of us jumped for it,” explains Martin Johnson.
Green Fuels NZ Ltd will continue to produce and market popular Biogold™ branded biodiesel whose loyal customers include
its new partner - Stark Bros - as well as Leopard Coachlines, Fulton Hogan, City Care, Okains Bay Longline,
Apparelmaster, and the Christchurch City Council.
Martin says “We are very confident that Green Fuels can provide very competitive pricing in comparison to mineral
diesel. Using Biogold™ enables companies and organisations to do the right thing for our environment. A responsible
attitude towards sustainability is becoming an increasingly hot topic especially in the current conversations around
building a ‘new’ Christchurch and maintaining a ‘pure’ New Zealand.”
Biogold biodiesel is made from 100% recycled vegetable oil and can be used in most diesel engine applications including
corporate fleets, marine, or factory boilers. If a company is using diesel now, it could very likely make the transition
to Biogold™ with little effort. It can be used in its full form or blended with conventional diesel. The environmental
benefits include a reduction in carbon footprint, reduced tailpipe emissions, non-hazardous and biodegradable diesel
product, and the potential for increased engine efficiency.
