Northland Inc on the move
Regional economic development and tourism body Northland Inc is on the move.
Executive Chairman Colin Mitten says the body’s eight Whangarei-based staff – who for the past three years have worked out of the Northland Regional Council’s Water St offices – will relocate to new premises in Cameron St today. (Friday 08 February)
Mr Mitten says the move – to the redeveloped former Whangarei Police Station site – is being driven both by a need for a more flexible and open work environment in terms of physical space and a desire for a better interface with the business community it serves.
Northland Inc has signed a five-year lease for the first floor of the complex, which includes meeting rooms and conference facilities and had been pleased to secure it for “considerably less” than budget.
The organisation’s Whangarei office number (09) 438 5110 – and email addresses - will not change.
Meanwhile, Mr Mitten says Northland Inc has also secured another year-long lease at its Paihia offices, which are home to three staff, again at a favourable reduced rate.
