Gen-i teams with Cisco to launch ReadyCloud Collaboration
New hosted collaboration solution will enable businesses to harness the benefits of an increasingly mobile workforce
AUCKLAND, 05 February 2013 – Gen-i and Cisco today announced the companies are teaming to bring Cisco’s Hosted Collaboration Solution into the New Zealand market for the first time, marketed as Gen-i’s ReadyCloud® Collaboration.
Gen-i’s new ReadyCloud Collaboration offering brings together Cisco’s international strength and Geni's proven local knowledge, coverage and infrastructure to deliver a flexible, highly secure and cost effective hosted collaboration service to New Zealand businesses.
ReadyCloud Collaboration supports businesses in developing an integrated, flexible, and highly secure work environment by simplifying and reducing the cost of collaboration, remote working and BYOD.
Services such as voice, instant messaging, presence and video calling can be accessed via desktop or mobile device, and businesses can assign the right mix of services to each employee, depending on their needs. ReadyCloud Collaboration also provides the flexibility to scale services up and down to meet changing business requirements.
This reduces cost by enabling businesses to pay for what they need, on a per month subscription basis.
Businesses can re-assign resource to focus on core business, as ReadyCloud Collaboration is fully managed by Gen-i and hosted locally in Gen-i’s Tier-3 data centres. The ability of the platform to utilise existing hardware also has a significant positive impact on cost.
Gen-i’s General Manager Operations and Marketing, Jo Allison, says: “Teaming with Cisco represents an important milestone in our drive to bring innovative new services developed by proven global technology providers into the New Zealand market.”
“ReadyCloud Collaboration shifts the technology conversation from devices and desktops to people, sites, roles and employee needs. This aligns perfectly with the conversations we’re having with our clients about the move towards a modern workspace that provides greater flexibility, productivity and operational efficiency.”
“ReadyCloud Collaboration offers New Zealand customers a new way of thinking about employee collaboration in an increasingly mobile world,” says Geoff Lawrie, Country Manager, Cisco New Zealand. “Hosted Collaboration Solutions offer the latest of everything with the ability to turn services on and off as needed while creating an environment which supports closer teamwork, faster decision making and the ability to work from anywhere.”
ReadyCloud Collaboration will be showcased at Gen-i’s 2013 ICT Conference, which is being held across 12 locations around the country between 19th February and 21st March.
