Former Head of London Metropolitan Police Homicide and Serious Crime Command joins Wynyard Group Advisory Board
Auckland, 05 February 2013 – Wynyard Group, the specialists in intelligence-led software for protecting companies and countries from threat, crime
and corruption, has appointed former head of Homicide and Serious Crime Command for the London Metropolitan Police,
David Johnston, to its Advisory Board.
Wynyard Managing Director, Craig Richardson, said Johnston strengthens the company’s knowledge of real front line
operational challenges and the tools needed to fight new crimes.

As Commander of the Metropolitan Police's Homicide and Serious Crime Group, Johnston led high profile British
investigations including the Damilola Taylor murder and the Torso in the Thames. He also advised the Suffolk police on
the Ipswich Serial Murders.
Johnston said he is delighted to be working with Wynyard on its powerful tools that deliver real and tangible benefits
to law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime and corruption.

Prior to joining the police force, Johnston served in the Royal Engineers from 1974 to 1979, having joined the army as
soldier in 1972.
Johnston’s appointment is the second recent high profile industry expert Wynyard Group has attracted to its global
advisory board. Last month the company announced that former FBI Executive Assistant Director of Science and Technology,
Mr Louis Grever, had joined the board.
