New office opens as MHW shows its commitment to the community of Nelson
Wellington, 1 February, 2013, - MWH Global has announced the opening of its new office at Oxford Street, Richmond.
The global consulting engineering company has taken out a long term lease in the new Network Tasman Limited development,
firmly establishing its commitment to its clients and the community in the Nelson and Tasman region.
MWH employs more than 70 people in their Richmond office and has the largest consulting engineering presence in the
region, providing specialist services to local government and industrial clients. Nelson staff work on projects in water
resources, transportation, geotechnical, structural and environmental disciplines here and overseas. They also provide
specialist business solutions.
“Our ability to provide stimulating career challenges from Nelson allows MWH to attract highly skilled staff to the
area,” says office manager Paul Russell.
MWH Nelson employees are also committed to their local community. Over the past four months staff have given over 200
hours of their free time to help the Nelson Tasman Cycle trails trust restore an old airfield navigation station along
the new Tasman's Great Taste Trail.
The team has worked hard on their weekends clearing, scrubbing and painting the station. The project is near completion
and the renovated building will be used as an information stop along the trail and include interesting facts about the
area, it wildlife and history about the navigation station itself.
New Zealand Director, Andrew Caseley supports a continuing presence in Nelson and the surrounding region. “This area has
diverse industry and has shown consistent growth through the global downturn. MWH is committed to continuing its long
term presence in the top of the South Island through the Richmond office”.
