$75 Home Broadband Plan Promotion Extended to March

MEDIA RELEASE
31 JANUARY 2012

$75 Home Broadband Plan Promotion Extended to March
30GB of data plus home phone for all of 2013
Plus boost from 5GB to 15GB from 2014 onwards

New Zealand’s largest broadband provider Telecom has announced that the sign-up period for the $75 Home Phone and Broadband Package (with 30GB of data to end of 2013 and everyday local calling) has been extended to the end of March.

Customers who sign-up to the promotion will receive a 30GB data allowance until the end of 2013. From 2014, the plan will then revert to a monthly data allowance of 15GB.

Data use for Telecom customers is steadily increasing in-line with the year-on-year growth seen globally. On average, almost 10GB more data per customer was consumed in the month of December 2012, compared to the same month during the previous year.1

Chris Thompson, Telecom Retail - Home notes that the promotion has been a great opportunity to better understand how broadband users consume their data allowance each month, and helped the company settle on a suitable plan to empower customers for all that they need moving forward.

“We were interested to see how Kiwis’ demands for data have increased, especially with the explosion of ‘content rich’ media hosted online – such as on-demand TV. This plan offers customers the freedom to explore online products and services in ways their previous standardised plans had not given them scope to,” says Mr Thompson.

“The $75 Home Phone and Broadband plan has been very popular and we wanted to give as many people as possible the opportunity to sign-up and maximise that boost to 30GB data during 2013.”

New sign-ups agree to a 12 month minimum term (and from 1 Jan 2014 standard monthly pricing applies). For further detail, including broadband availability, set-up costs and Terms and Conditions and information on Telecom’s full range of home phone and broadband packages, customers are encouraged to visit www.telecom.co.nz to compare, review, update or sign-up for an account.
