Loads of Space and Style in New i30 Wagon
Hyundai New Zealand has welcomed the new i30 Wagon to its family, following the successful launch of the award-winning i30 hatch in July last year.
The new i30 Wagon, on sale now, features the same levels of design, efficiency and performance as the hatch, with the additional benefit of more space.
Like the i30 hatch, the Wagon was designed at Hyundai’s design studio in Rüsselsheim, Germany and features the familiar flowing lines of Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture design philosophy.
Hyundai New Zealand General Manager, Andy Sinclair says it is a practical car that looks smart and offers excellent value for money, which will be a hit with fleet managers around the country.
"The quality and driving enjoyment is the same as the i30 hatch, but better load-carrying capability makes it perfect for those who need a bit more carry space,” says Mr Sinclair.
The i30 Wagon shares the hatch’s 2,650 mm wheelbase but adds 185 mm in total length. This allows for a 150 litres increase in boot space to make a very generous total load capacity of 528 litres with the rear seats raised and 1,642 litres when folded.
Every i30 Wagon comes standard with Voice command, the new Flex steer system, iPod/USB connectivity with Bluetooth® handsfree, steering wheel controls, and cruise control.
There is a choice of 1.6 litre petrol or 1.6 litre turbo-diesel powertrains. The petrol engine produces 88 kW @ 6,300 rpm and 156 Nm @ 4,850 rpm, while the diesel achieves 94 kW @ 4,000 rpm and 260 Nm @ 1,900-2,750 rpm. Both engines are available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic with sequential manual mode.
The new generation i30 Wagon holds EURO NCAP 5-star safety rating and offers a comprehensive suite of active and passive safety technologies. Standard across all models in the range are Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), and ABS with EBD and Brake Assist (BAS), while advanced passive safety features include the use of ultra-high tensile steel within the body shell and seven airbags as standard, including a driver knee airbag.
As with all newly Hyundai models in New Zealand, the new generation i30 Wagon comes with a three year / 100,000 kilometre mechanical warranty, roadside assistance and a 10 year / 200,000 kilometre anti-perforation corrosion body warranty.
