New Burger King Set To Take Off In Miramar
Fasten your seatbelts Miramar, New Zealand’s 81st Burger King is set to open opposite Wellington airport this week. Home to New Zealand’s best tasting burgers, this will be Wellington Central’s first Burger King drive-thru restaurant, located next to the Z station.
Great tasting burgers need great staff to serve them, and Burger King’s newest restaurant has created over 40 positions for a mix of full and part-time staff.
The restaurant will hold a “Friends and Family” evening on Tuesday 15 January where it will play host to a number of people from the local community, before opening to the public on Wednesday 16 January.
“The unique location of the restaurant opposite the airport means it is a handy place to wait if you are picking up friends or family, and the lobby has been specifically fitted with flight arrival and departure screens. The restaurant’s upper floor is a great place to watch the planes come in,” says Rachael Allison, Communications Manager for Burger King.
The restaurant’s state-of-the-art design features the new contemporary theme with uniquely New Zealand features that is being rolled out across Burger King restaurants throughout the country. Retro-style artwork and the iconic booth-seating remain as does Burger King’s dedication to great music, making each restaurant a great place to meet and eat.
“In communities around New Zealand, Burger King is a passionate supporter of CanTeen, with collection boxes in all restaurants.
“Most of all, Burger King is known for having the best-tasting burgers in town, and we look forward to providing the opportunity for more Wellingtonians to sample them for themselves.”
Burger King’s first New Zealand restaurant opened in Newmarket, Auckland in 1994. The New Zealand master franchisee of the Burger King is Antares Restaurant Group Ltd, which employs over 2,300 people throughout its staff and management team.
Burger King was founded in Miami in 1954. It is the second largest burger chain in the world, operating in 76 countries, with around 90 percent franchised.
